City of Dimlight

Chapter 134 The Queen's Visit

The elf team took the lead and, relying on their intuition and vision, commanded the group of orc friends to go left and right, crossing the area with the least obvious resistance, while roughly maintaining their route to the east. But the wasteland did not take much time to answer, and moans and howls quickly began to echo around them.

The night gradually passed, and they did not meet anything directly, but the moans and footsteps behind them did not relax. They soon began to suspect that there was some kind of collective wisdom dealing with them, because although they were far away from the swamp behind or around them, there were always more monsters waiting to chase them. There is a kind of evil in this land, as if the swamp itself is the real enemy.

But the elves are quite familiar with this place. They shuttle on the edge of the jungle, and the dense trees and vines help guard the group of travelers. "Why do you still have these monsters in your elf kingdom?" Obix rushed to the elf captain's side, "I thought it should be peaceful here!"

The elf captain showed an awkward look: "It should have been our elf kingdom to protect you, but--" He explained: "We are too small to maintain such a large area. In addition, we don't like slaughter, as long as it doesn't affect our lives. They are all allowed to live, so..."

"So there are a lot of monsters here?" Leo interrupted. He looked down on elves, but it was not easy to say.

Captain Elf has no interface. After seeing too many business travelers killed by monsters, he also complained about the decision of the Presbyterian, but his nature determined that they were obedient to everything and did not question it.

They passed through some thorns, bent down through some that grew on them, and then bypassed others. Their hearts are trembling, because what suddenly appears in front of them is the quiet forest mentioned by the elves, the entrance to the kingdom. But in the invisible place ahead, I don't know what else is waiting for them.

The elf saw Leo's uneasiness and understood what the travelers were worried about, so the captain took out a green whistle and blew a melodious song in the forest.

Almost at the end of the song, many elves came out one by one from the back of the tree. From the intuition, Leo knew that there were still many archers defending in the dark.

"Hama," Tomma's warm welcome to the guards." I hope you know that your arrival has injected a new life into my tired heart!"

The guards ignored him and focused on Leo, who had pulled his hat down. They seemed to be curious because they felt the strange feelings in him, but they were not surprised by the arrival of the orcs.

"Can you escort us in now?" After a period of silence that continued to increase uneasiness, the old fox asked. You can't guess how eager we are to see the oasis of life - we have gone through too much along the way!"

Leo expected what would happen next, and a mass of anger gushed out of his throat.

"Go away," one of the guards said calmly. You are not allowed to go there."

Captain Elf objected to this: "Captain Elasika, they are indeed guests of our kingdom - I have seen the documents of the kingdom in their hands!"

The elves known as Captain Ilasika reserved their opinions on this: "Or they really have the documents of the kingdom - but I feel uneasy. This uneasiness made me make this decision - you need to wait for our elders to come back to deal with this matter!"

Obix's face turned red in anger, but Leo stopped his outbreak. We really haven't done anything and deserve such a harsh ruling. Leo said calmly. We are just ordinary mercenaries, not here to make trouble.

"You seem to be out of your name." Thomas commented to the guards. It is not the usual practice of elves to treat friends like this!"

"You insulted our friendship!" One of the orcs said.

"I'm sorry," Elasika replied, "but I have my responsibility, and I will carry it out."

"The reason is us, or our mercenary friend?" The old fox asked.

"This mercenary." The elf guard captain replied. Others can go in! But he can't." His explanation for this is very simple: "I'm not sure where this feeling comes from, and I don't know why this feeling comes from - the elder will not delay for a long time, and he will make a decision!"

"Damn guy!" Obix shouted. All of you are not as good as Uncle Leo! He saved my life a hundred times, and you said that he was not qualified to enter your stinky city! How many monsters have been cut down under your sword?

"Calm down, my child." Leo interrupted him. I already expected it! It's just their duty! This is because of my own relationship, and they should not be condemned! Go in and I'll come later."

"No!" The child said in an indisputable tone. If you don't go in, I won't go in!"

"Think about our purpose, child," Leo scolded. You have to find your father's old friend, which is why we came here!"

"No!" Obix said with his nose. I want to be with you, and then I will tell my uncle that I want to stay with you and continue to study!"

"Then wait," said the old fox. Don't let anger ruin our business. We all stay here to accompany Leo and wait for the arrival of the elders!"

The beautiful bird came out and found that Leo was still standing alone outside the jungle. The people in the caravan had begun to rest under the trees. Only he was far away from the caravan and the elves and was still thinking about something.

He needs to know a lot of things, sorting out his thoughts, hoping to understand what his current change is, having power and knowledge, but he doesn't know where this power comes from. How are the friends of the Blue Mermaid? How is Nicole? Many of these questions are entangled in his mind, but there is no definite answer.

And now the Elf Kingdom, a kingdom built on the belief in freedom and fairness, all people who come here with goodwill are welcomed regardless of race and reject him.

I seem to have something dangerous!

The flash in the dome brought him out of a state of self-reflection. A star flashes and becomes bigger, which has exceeded the original proportion. Its light softly enveloped the place where Leo was, and then flashed and stood still.

Then the charming light disappeared, and an elf stood in front of Trieste. Her hair shone silver, and her shining eyes contained many years of experience and wisdom in the brilliance of eternal youth. She is tall, taller than Leo, and graceful, wearing the best silk robe and a gold crown full of gems.

She looked at him with sincere sympathy, as if she could read his every thought and fully understood the messy emotions he was still clearing.

"Peace, Leo," she said in a voice like sweet music. I'm Silamis, the current Elf Queen.

Leo looked closer and carefully, although her elegance and beauty made him not doubt what she claimed. Do you know me?" He asked.

"I learned your power from the words of the trees and guessed who you were!"

She stopped talking and deeply saw through his lavender eyes. I won't let you into the city." She admitted.

"Then why are you coming to me now?" Leo asked, more curious than angry. He couldn't associate the action he refused with the elf in front of him. The justice and tolerance of the Elf Queen are well known throughout the underground world. Although Leo began to doubt how exaggerated these stories were after experiencing the border encounters, now he sees her with his own eyes and with frank and sincere sympathy. He can't believe those legends.

"I think it's necessary to explain." She replied.

"You don't need to defend your decision."

"But I have to do it." Silamis said. Not only for you, but also for me and my home. This refusal has hurt you more than you admit. She walked closer to him.

"This decision also hurts my heart." She said softly.

"Then why did you do this?" Trist asked, and his anger weakened under his calm appearance. If you know me, you should know that I don't pose a threat to your people.

She put her cold hand on his cheek. Because you are an unusual person. She explained. There are many different things in the world that make us believe that the legendary wheel of fate has begun to turn - you are extraordinary in it, and I must confirm your power.

"I know this will happen." Leo said, but immediately he thought of another problem.

"I expected it a long time ago." He continued coldly, "But I don't know how you understand all this."

"We have been closely watching the wheel of fate." The Elf Queen said. We are closely related to Holyrin Castle.

Her words touched Leo. While Leo waited for her to explain, his anger completely disappeared, and he was sure that there must be a good reason for the woman's action.

"You are not a casual human," Silamis explained. You are Leo, a name destined to be known all over the world. Even now, you are a mercenary commander who has quickly attracted the attention of the rulers of several empires.

Leo quietly waited for her explanation.

Before the Elf Queen spoke again, they stood in silence for a long time.
