Rebirth of the Three Kingdoms

Chapter 155 Yuan Shu

It turns out that the woman beside Chunyuqiong is none other than Chunxiang.

Looking at Chunyuqiong with satisfaction, more than 100 people went south.

Yuan Shu (?-199), a native of Ruyang, Runan (now southwest of Shangshui, Henan).

Born in the family of the fourth three princes in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the family is the fourth three princes of Runan Yuan, the eldest son of Sikong Yuan Fengzhi.

It is said that when he was born, the fairy gave a dream to his mother, saying that the child in her arms had a destiny.

Since Yuan Shu's brother Yuan Shao is the adopted son of his uncle Yuan Cheng, Shi Shupu called Yuan Shu's cousin Yuan Shao. In fact, the two are half-brothers. However, Yuan Shao's mother was only a maidservant, and Yuan Shao's status in the family was quite low in his early years.

When he was young, he was famous for his chivalry. He often hunted and played with his sons and buddies. Later, he changed a lot. He was recommended as a filial piety and has been transferred to Henan Yin and Huben Zhonglang General for many times.

After Dong Zhuo entered Luoyang, he wanted to abolish the Han Emperor. In order to attract Yuan Shu, he was the rear general. Yuan Shu refused to cling to it and fled to Nanyang for fear of disaster.

Sun Jian, the governor of Changsha, killed Zhang Zhi, the governor of Nanyang, and led troops to the art. Nanyang still has tens of millions of household registration, but he does not practice the law and uses money plunder as capital. He is insatiable and luxurious, and the people suffers it.

Yuan Shu then joined hands with Sun Jian to defeat General Sun Jian and lead the governor of Yuzhou. Sun Jian led the army, and Yuan Shu provided food and fodder supplies in the rear.

Later, Sun Jian led the army to defeat Hu Zhuo and Lv Bu of Dong Zhuo's army, killed Hua Xiong, and won a great victory.

At this time, someone said to Yuan Shu, "If you get Luo, you can't copy it. This is to get a tiger by removing the wolf."

Yuan Shu was worried that Sun Jian would not lose his tail, so he did not send military food to Sun Jian. Sun Jian rushed back overnight to scold Yuan Shu. Yuan Shu was ashamed and immediately transferred military food to Sun Jian.

After returning to the front line, Sun Jian led his army into Luoyang and left Hanguguan.

Later, Sun Jian attacked Dong Zhuo and had not returned to Yuzhou. Yuan Shao took Zhou Xin of Huiji as the governor of Yuzhou and wanted to seize Sun Jian's territory. Yuan Shu led troops to repel Zhou Xin.

Yuan Shao wanted to establish Liu Yu, the Han clan, as emperor, and made people report his skills, hoping to get the support of Yuan Shu.

However, Yuan Shuguan's Han Dynasty was in decline and had a different ambition for a long time. He was unwilling to support the adult emperor of the Han Dynasty, so he excused justice and did not agree with Yuan Shao's proposal, so the two brothers turned against each other.

At that time, Sun Jian's attack on Dong Zhuo had not yet returned. Yuan Shao took Zhou Xin as the assassin of Yuzhou and wanted to seize Sun Jian's territory. Yuan Shu led troops to repel Zhou Xin.

After that, Yuan Shu turned to form an alliance with Gongsun Zan and Tao Qian to compete with Yuan Shao for hegemony. However, most of the heroes were attached to Yuan Shao. Yuan Shu scolded others for preferring to follow his "house slave" (referring to his brother Yuan Shao) than follow him. He also wrote to Gongsun Zan saying that Yuan Shao was not a descendant of the Yuan family.

Yuan Shao then joined forces with Liu Biao to clamp down Yuan Shu from north to south. Shu was to recall Sun Jian to lead the army to attack Liu Jingsheng. Soon after, Sun Jian died in battle when he conquered Liu Biao.

In order to eliminate Yuan Shao's ally Cao Cao, Yuan Shulian and Jin Shang, the Yanzhou assassin appointed by the court, waved an army to attack Yanzhou.

The Shutun army was in Fengqiu, and then the rest of the Black Mountain thieves and the Huns helped fight with Cao Cao in Kuangting, but they were defeated.

Yuan Shu retreated to protect Yongqiu and returned to Shouchun. The guard Chen Yu did not allow him to enter the city. Yuan Shu retreated to the Yinling and gathered troops to attack Chen Yu. Chen Yu fled back to Xia Pi.

Yuan Shu also led the rest of his troops to Jiujiang County, killing Chen Wen, the assassin of Yangzhou, and led himself to Yangzhou Mu. He was also known as Xuzhou Bo, and Zhang Xun and Qiao Yu were appointed as generals.

After Li Yu and others attacked Chang'an, they wanted to make friends with Yuan Shu, so they gave General Zuo a fake festival and entered the Marquis of Yang Zhai.

And sent Taifu Ma Riqi to various places to hold a worship ceremony for the marquis who was awarded the feudal general. Yuan Shu robbed the military charm brought by Ma Rijun, and then imprisoned him and did not let him go back.

In 194 (the first year of Xingping), Yuan Shu attacked Xuzhou and fought with Liu Bei in Xuyi and Huaiyin.

Later, Lv Bu took the opportunity to capture Xuzhou, and Yuan Shu defeated Liu Bei and occupied Xuzhou Guangling and other places.

Take Wu Jing as the governor of Guangling. In the first month of spring of 195 (the second year of Xingping), Cao Cao's army came to Wuping, and Yuan Shu's Chen Xiang and Yuan Si surrendered.

According to Wei Llue, Cao Cao was chased and killed by Yuan Shubuqu when he went out. Fortunately, Qin Shao (worded by Bonan), the father of Cao Zhen (formerly known as Qin Zhen), pretended to be replaced. Yuan Shubu Qu mistakenly thought that he was Cao Cao Cao, so he killed him and made Cao avoid a disaster. ( Before that, Qin Zhen was regarded as the adopted son by Cao Cao and changed his name to Cao Zhen.)

Yuan Shu has always believed that the surname Yuan comes from Chen. After Chen is Shun, he inherits the fire with soil and has the second luck.

He also thought that he would say: "Those who replace the Han Dynasty should be Tu Gaoye." It's about himself, so after Yuan Shu got the jade seal, he often had the ambition to be emperor.

In the winter of 195 (the second year of Xingping), the traitor Li and Guo Yan chased Emperor Xian of Han and hundreds of officials in Cao Yangjian, Hongnong County. Yang Feng, who protected Emperor Xian and Xianting, was defeated by the rebels, and Emperor Xian fled to the north of the Yellow River alone.

Yuan Shu thought that the time had come and called a meeting of his subordinates and said, "Now that Liu's world has declined and the sea is boiling. Our four generations of the Yuan family are important ministers in the dynasty, and the people are willing to attach themselves to me. I want to adhere to God's will, conform to the hearts of the people, and ascend the throne now. I don't know what you want?"

When everyone heard this, no one dared to say anything more. Only the master book Yan Xiang said, "At that time, the Zhou people from their ancestor to the King of Wen, accumulated virtue and merit. It can be said that they have two points in the world, but they still carefully become the ministers of the Yin and Shang Dynasty. Although you are a senior official, I'm afraid you are not as prosperous as the Ji family; although the Han Dynasty is declining at present, it seems that it can't be compared with the cruel and unruly King Yin Zhou!"

Yuan Shu was very angry when he heard Yan Xiang's words.

Not long after, Zhang Yu, a native of Hanoi, said that he had the order to be emperor. For this reason, he became emperor in Shouchun in 197 A.D. (the second year of Jian'an), founded the Zhong family, appointed Gongqing, and the southern suburbs of the ancestral temple.

("Book of Later Han · Biography of Yuan Shu": "In the second year of Jian'an, because of Zhang Yan's order in Hanoi, he called himself the Zhong family.") After Yuan Shu became emperor, he appointed Jiujiang Taishou as Huainan Yin, appointed a wide range of ministers and courtiers, and also built the altar used by the emperor to sacrifice to the emperor in the north of the city. In his life, he is extravagant and profligate.

There are hundreds of wives and concubines in the harem, all dressed in beautiful clothes and exquisite food, while the soldiers in his army are in a state of hunger and cold.

Under his corrupt rule, the people in the Jianghuai area were restless, and people were cut off in many places, and there was even a phenomenon of cannibalism in famine.

At the same time, Yuan Shu's act of becoming emperor was despised by the princes of the world. Yuan Shu became everyone's enemy. Soon after, he was betrayed and attacked by Sun Ce, Lv Bu and Cao Cao.

First of all, Sun Ce broke away from Yuan Shu in Jiangdong and expelled Yuan Yin, the governor appointed by Yuan Shu, and made Yuan Shu's Guangling Taishu Wu Jing and General Sun Ben abandon Yuan Shu and defect to Sun Ce (both are Sun Ce's relatives) after receiving Sun Ce's letter, causing Yuan Shu to lose Guangling. A large area of land such as Jiangdong was frustrated.

Secondly, Lv Bu defeated Yuan Shu's army and plundered in Huaibei; the third was that Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shu when Yuan Shu invaded Chen County, and Yuan Shu fled to Huainan again.

After that, Yuan Shu encountered a great drought and famine in the winter of 197 A.D. (the second year of Jian'an), and his strength was seriously damaged, and a man-eating tragedy could be seen everywhere between Jianghuai.

At that time, Pei Xiang Shu Shao (Zhong Ying) advised Yuan Shu to scatter grain to save the hungry people. Yuan Shu was furious and would kill him.

Zhong Ying: "Knowing is bound to die, so it is the ear. It's better to save the people from suffering alone.

Yuan Shu was moved and took him out of his horse and said, "Zhong Ying, you want to enjoy the name of the world alone and not share evil with me?" He listened to Zhong Ying's words.

However, at this time, Yuan Shu's decline was irreversible. Later, Chen Lan and Lei Bo rebelled and ran to the mountain.

In 199 (the fourth year of Jian'an), Yuan Shu, who was desperate, returned the emperor's name to Yuan Shao and wanted to defect to Yuan Tan, Yuan Shao's eldest son, who was the assassin of Qingzhou at that time.

As a result, the road was intercepted by Liu Bei and Zhu Lingjun sent by Cao Cao, and Yuan Shu could not pass.

He retreated to Shouchun again. On the way, he wanted to go to Yushan to join his former songs Lei Bo and Chen Lan, but he refused for Lei Bo and others. After three days, the scholars were out of food, so he retreated to Jiangting.

. At that time, there were only 30 wheat crumbs in the army. In the summer of June, Yuan Shu wanted to get honey to quench his thirst, but there was no honey. After sighing for a long time, he said, "Yuan Shu is so far as this!" Finally, he vomited blood and died.

Yuan Shu's younger brother Yuan Yin was afraid of Cao Cao and did not dare to live in Shouchun. He led his subordinate Fengshu coffin and his wife to Lujiang Taishou Liu Xun.

After Sun Ce broke through Liu Xun, he took in Yuan Shu's family. Later, Yuan Shu's son Yuan Yaoshi and Wu Weilangzhong, and Yao's daughter was married to Sun Quan's son.

Chen Shou once commented: "Yuan Shu has no merit, and he is kind, but when he is rampant, he is arrogant, and the righteous husband's wrist is strangled, and the people and ghosts are the same disease. Although it is used with thrift, it will still be full of death." Yuan Shu's luxury ** is presumptuous, and his glory does not end.
