How to understand "one crossbow and ten arrows"? Are ten arrows fired at the same time, or are they sent out successively? This is the key to understanding and developing Zhugelian crossbow. But for this type of crossbow, we think it is definitely not the type of Zhugelian crossbow. First of all, from the available data, it is even more unlikely that the ten arrows have been shot at the same time, and it is impossible to "double the order" and shoot 50 arrows at the same time, as Ma Jun said. In fact, it is impossible for this kind of crossbow to shoot 50 arrows at the same time. It is rare to shoot arrows to deal with the target, and ten or fifty enemies line up to attack. Ten or fifty arrows at the same time will cause great waste! Second, a crossbow launches ten or fifty arrows at the same time, that is, after the power of a crossbow machine is divided equally into ten or fifty parts, how far can its range be? What else is lethal? Third, this kind of bulky crossbow bed is difficult to carry and is not suitable for the geographical conditions of the southern expedition and the northern expedition, that is, it is not suitable for the geographical environment at the border area between southwest and Sichuan and Shaanxi. Fourth, the arrow used in this kind of crossbow is more than three feet long, which is too different from the "eight inches long" of Zhugelian crossbow. Fifth, it is obviously impossible to take iron as the target for such a long arrow.

Look at the continuously launched crossbow. This can be divided into two categories. The first type is two bows, or three bows, or four bows on the crossbow **. There is another kind of continuously launched crossbow. According to Mao Yuanyi's Wu Beizhi in the Ming Dynasty, the Ming people developed the "Zhuge Wuhou crossbow" (Figure 11). Later, the Qing people created the "ball crossbow" on this basis:

We think this kind of crossbow is a long-lost Zhugelian crossbow, at least this type. First of all, its "arrow is eight inches long" and can continuously launch ten arrows, which is in line with the two basic data of Zhuge crossbow. It is extremely light and can be carried by infantry and cavalry, which is suitable for the geographical environment at the border between southwest and Sichuan and Shaanxi. Unfortunately, the artillery had been used at that time, and this important research result failed to attract great attention from the world, failed to promote it, and soon lost it again.

According to the improvement of the crossbow into a ten-bit lethal long-range weapon during the Warring States period 2700 years ago, the State of Chu already had a double-gun crossbow during the Warring States period. Similar to the concept of long-range rocket launchers in modern weapons, it is also based on the improvement of single-fired rocket launchers.
