Alchemy Era

Chapter 6 Return

The dark sky was thunder and lightning, and the wind was strong. The ocean roared, rolled up huge waves, and fought desperately with the sky, while the Golden Titan was a child sandwiched in the giant, drowned by their saliva, allowing them to punch, kick and be powerless to resist.

The cabin is all in a mess. The closet and wardrobe, the long table and the wooden bed slide back and forth in the room. They hit the wall fiercely, and the boards moaned terriblely, as if a big hole would be broken in the wall the next moment. Dishes and candlesticks scattered on the ground, hitting the floor, walls, and their bodies.

"Lighting." Li Ou leaned against the wall and shouted.

"Damn it!" Rosie responded in the dark, "I'm dizzy."

The brief light brought by lightning, Li Ou found that Lu Yuewu was holding the wall with his hand and moving out of the cabin little by little. Where are you going?" Li Ou asked, "There are strong winds and rainstorms outside!"

"Take it for me." Lu Yuewu threw the long sword to Rosie. Go to the deck to help. Such a storm 'gold' is very easy to sink. Yes, that's right. She came by boat and knew something about it. I'll go too." Leo staggered and stood up.

Before they moved out of the cabin, they heard the first officer roaring hoarsely outside the door, "Go to the deck!" His voice was mixed with stormy waves and thunder, like fallen leaves in the wind. Go to the deck!"

As soon as they walked out of the cabin, the pouring rain made their clothes wet in an instant. Leo felt that his eyes were also covered by the water curtain, and he could hardly see anything. And the hull swayed, and he had to hold the port to move forward. But on the other side is the rough sea, like countless sharks are turning their dorsal fins, waiting for them to fall into the water.

The barrels and ropes were blown up by the waves and storm, crushed and scattered, covering the deck, turning them into dangerous traps. The sailors ran back and forth, tripping over them from time to time.

"Cut the rope!" The roar of the captain and the first officer was teetering in the strong wind.

Suddenly, a huge wave came, like the palm of a giant. In the fleeting thunder, Li Ou saw Lu Yuewu's frightened face. Hold on to the rope!" She shouted. The huge wave fell and hit Leo. He only felt weak all over and knelt on the ground as soon as his feet slipped. His chest was stuffy, and he tried to open his mouth and breathe, but only salty seawater was swallowed in his stomach. When he had time to wipe away the sea water on his face, he heard the frightened shouts of everyone in the shower and thunder: "Fall down! Lord...the main mast has fallen!"

The mast made a desperate sound, and the rope broke one after another. They swayed around, pulled on the deck, split the boards and smashed a hole. An unlucky sailor was pulled by a rope. Li Ou saw his arm shape. He was rolled up by the rope and thrown into the sea without even calling for help. His screams were swallowed up by the waves in an instant. He can't live. Li Ou thought.

The mast smashed the railing, and the sail fell into the sea. The sea of anger seemed to have countless sharp mouths, and the sharp teeth bit the sail tightly and tore it up mercilessly. The broken rope crackled in the air and involved everything that blocked it into the bottom of the sea as a burial. In the light of lightning, Lu Yuewu jumped up and showed perfect balance. She pulled out the dagger, cut off the hook stuck on the deck with a sword, and the rope was pulled towards her, but she cleverly dodged it. She crossed the bodies of several trembling sailors who grabbed the starboard and cut off the ropes one by one. The sail sank to the bottom of the sea, turned into fragments, and disappeared in a blink of an eye.

It is noon on the second day when the clouds disperse and the rain breaks. The air is filled with the pungent smell of ozone. The long-lost sunshine pierced the clouds and squandered her light and heat. In the distant sky, rainbows cross the sky, and colorful long bridges connect the land, sea and sky, as if they go straight to the kingdom of gods. The distant skyline is hazy, like a mirage about to be born. However, they didn't want to watch it, and the sun seemed to fall into an ice cave.

"Mr. Li, Mr. Li Ou..." Pei Dinan sneezed. His face was pale and his fingers were swollen and white. He didn't even have time to change into clean clothes. He pointed to the chart and said tremblingly, "Look here..."

The nautical chart is drawn with warp and weft marks. Leo is not all-talented. He can't know everything. He pushed away the chart and looked directly at the other party's congested and frightened eyes. Is there something wrong?" He asked.

"Look at this, this, and here..." His finger pointed out a triangular area on the chart.

He can't see any problem. If you have something to say, just say it." Leo stressed again.

"You haven't seen it yet?" Pei Dinan lowered his shoulders weakly and supported the table with both hands. Yes, yes, you are neither an islander nor a sailor; you are an alchemist. He said helplessly.

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

Pei Dinant was silent for a moment. We are back again!" He slowly turned his head and looked at Leo, word by word, and roared at him hoarsely, as if venting his fear. We are back to this damn place again!"

"Where did you go back?"

"Curse!" He shouted, "The curse has come true... This is the sea of death!" We are going to die, we are going to die, you know! This must be the punishment given to us by Nep...

Li Ou tried his best to comfort him. When he calmed down, he knew the cause and effect - they came back. They returned to the sea of dead fish swarms a few days ago. However, in just a few days, the previous terrible scene has disappeared, and the dead fish have disappeared, leaving only calm sea water, no waves, no seabirds, and no fish under the fishing nets. The whole sea area has died and there is no life. They are the only living creatures. The Golden Titan is the last watchman.

"But it's impossible--" Peidinan muttered to himself in disbelief, "I deliberately changed the route."

The storm blew them off the route. But this is a coincidence, not a necessity. Leo doesn't believe in ghosts. The so-called miracle is just a false means and a smart trick. However, the captain of the "Golden Titan" did not believe it. He has confirmed the fact that this is divine punishment. His crew also holds this belief. He must appease them. Leo could not imagine that if they believed that this was the curse of the god, they would wear armor and jump into the palace of the sea god to apologize to the illusory god.

He immediately took over the captain's duties and called the first mate. Please leave here at full speed. Leo ordered, "I know everyone is extremely tired, but last night's wind and rain made us lose some supplies." He lied, "We have to go back as soon as possible."

"Only a few of us know about this." When the first mate left, Li Ou said to Pei Dinan, "We need to hide the news. If you don't want your crew to change.

Pei Dinan's face turned pale, but Li Ou's words seemed to make him find the backbone. He nodded his neck stiffly and then took a long breath. His eyes were slightly better and he was no longer desperate, but his face was still full of fear.

"Laugh." Li Ou said, "Don't look dead. Death hasn't come yet, and your expression should be as bright as the sun. We are going home, aren't we? There will be good wine and beauty when you go home. You can drink and enjoy it.

Pei Dinan didn't say a word for a long time. Li Ou thought that he had gradually figured it out and no longer bothered himself about it, but he heard him say, "If I can still go back..." He smiled miserably, "If I can still go back, I will no longer go to sea. No matter how much money you have, you won't go to sea."

"Why?" Leo can't understand: Is faith really so powerful? A little sign can be dazzling. You are a Leo Islander, and your roots are in the sea.

"You saw the eyes of my fellow villagers looking at me and heard his ridicule." He pulled the wet black satin clothes, and his face gradually faded away. I just chose another way."

"But you value tradition as much as you do." Otherwise, he would not be afraid of the unwarranted curse.

"So I'm still an islander," he insisted and quibbled. The only difference is that I never wear heavy armor on the boat.

But that's what makes the islanders different. What Pei Dinan said was not brave against tradition in Leo's eyes, but just an excuse for himself, just for fear of death.

"I never care about being buried at the bottom of the sea and sleeping in the palace of Neptune--" he continued, "but that's when I die... I will be buried at the bottom of the sea after I die, but before I die... I don't want to drown before I die."

Li Ou has listened to him enough. What on earth is he trying to say? It ignores tradition and is restricted by tradition. Does he want to show that he can't resist the fate that was born in any way? He is not his mother, and he doesn't have time to listen to his crying.

"Since you don't want to die," he interrupted him, "then ask your crew to speed up!" Their main mast was broken, and all the paddlers were in battle. Leaving here, I will listen to your long talk about the tradition of the Leo people, confrontation and victory, defeat and destruction. Now, put away your charts!"

He recognized Leo's anger and chose to shut his mouth. As long as I am on the boat for a day, I will remember my duties. The captain rolled up the chart and finally said seriously, "I'll take everyone home." I swear in the name of the sea god.
